Our Story

From a family-run inn to a booking-direct favorite

HotelStay opened in 2014 as a 40-room inn a block off the beach. Over the years we expanded to 128 rooms and suites across two buildings, added the rooftop pool, and renovated every room — but we stayed independently owned, which is why the person who checks you in might also be the one who remembers your name the next morning.

For a long time, most of our reservations came through third-party travel sites, and we paid commission on nearly every one of them. Our old website was outdated and didn't do much beyond listing an address and a phone number, so guests booked elsewhere out of habit.

The Rebuild

Why we finally rebuilt hotelstay.space

We brought in a web team to rebuild the site properly: real room pages with pricing and photos, general hotel information, and a live connection to our booking system so availability updates automatically instead of someone checking it by hand.

We reviewed the site as it was being built rather than waiting for a finished product — room pages first, then the booking flow, then the general info pages — so we could ask for changes before anything went live. A few delays on our end around getting photos taken and getting a couple of languages translated didn't derail the timeline; the schedule simply shifted around it.
